As part of the exhibition Dove non sono mai stato,là sono, Beatriz de Rijke presents a live performance. The artist — who participated in the 2024 edition in Guardialfiera (CB), Molise — presents a work centered on the use of the voice as an expressive instrument, drawing inspiration from the project The Sacred Ordinary, dedicated to the musicality of the Italian language.
In the voice, we hear contemplation, desire, doubt, and surprise.
Communicating through voice messages seems to be a comfortable mode for many people — there is a spontaneous confidence in them, and the animation of words is captured sonically, allowing it to be listened to calmly, whenever one chooses.
The messages come both from the artist’s personal phone and from the audience attending the performance. This process shapes an open composition, made of intimate and unpredictable exchanges.
